Are you a dynamic and resilient individual with a passion for physical education and supporting young people? Do you come from a military, police, or coaching background and want to make a real difference in an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school?

We are looking for a Physical Education Teacher to join an outstanding SEMH school in Hertfordshire, working with students who require a structured and engaging learning environment. You do not need QTS, but you must have strong leadership skills, the ability to manage challenging behaviours, and a passion for using sport and fitness to inspire young people.

The School & Leadership

Led by a forward-thinking Executive Headteacher, this school is dedicated to helping students overcome barriers and reintegrate into mainstream education wherever possible. The leadership team is deeply committed to creating a supportive, structured, and engaging learning environment where every student is given the opportunity to thrive.

The Role:

  • Delivering engaging and structured PE lessons to students with SEMH needs.
  • Supporting students in developing teamwork, discipline, and resilience through sports and physical activity.
  • Managing behaviour effectively and creating a positive, structured learning atmosphere.
  • Acting as a mentor and role model for young people who have experienced challenges in mainstream education.
  • Working collaboratively with a dedicated and passionate team to provide holistic support to students.

What We’re Looking For:

✔ Background in military, police, coaching, or sports leadership.
✔ Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build trust with students.
✔ A passion for mentoring, motivating, and supporting young people through physical education.
✔ Ability to adapt and remain calm in challenging situations.
✔ A proactive, energetic, and hands-on approach to teaching and learning.

Why Join Us?

A Rewarding Role – Make a lasting impact on students’ lives and help them reintegrate into mainstream settings.
Supportive Team Environment – Work alongside experienced SEMH professionals.
