Job description

​​We are currently seeking two Qualified SEND Teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for a specialist school in HP12, Buckinghamshire. The school provides tailored support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and is looking for dedicated professionals to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess differentiated lessons that meet the needs of students with ASD and additional learning needs.

  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans (ILPs) in collaboration with SENCOs and support staff.

  • Create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that supports the learning and well-being of students with SEND.

  • Use specialist teaching strategies to support communication, social skills, and behaviour management.

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to education.

  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback and reports to stakeholders.

  • Uphold safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

  • Experience working with pupils with ASD and additional learning needs.

  • Strong behaviour management skills and experience using positive reinforcement strategies.

  • Ability to differentiate teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.

  • A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.

  • Knowledge of EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) and experience in implementing them effectively.

Desirable:

  • Additional SEND qualifications or training in autism strategies (e.g., TEACCH, PECS, Makaton).

  • Experience working within a specialist SEND school or unit.
