Job description
We are currently seeking two Qualified SEND Teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for a specialist school in HP12, Buckinghamshire. The school provides tailored support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and is looking for dedicated professionals to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess differentiated lessons that meet the needs of students with ASD and additional learning needs.
Develop and implement individualised learning plans (ILPs) in collaboration with SENCOs and support staff.
Create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that supports the learning and well-being of students with SEND.
Use specialist teaching strategies to support communication, social skills, and behaviour management.
Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to education.
Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback and reports to stakeholders.
Uphold safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all students.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Experience working with pupils with ASD and additional learning needs.
Strong behaviour management skills and experience using positive reinforcement strategies.
Ability to differentiate teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
Knowledge of EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) and experience in implementing them effectively.
Desirable:
Additional SEND qualifications or training in autism strategies (e.g., TEACCH, PECS, Makaton).
Experience working within a specialist SEND school or unit.
