ASD SEND Teacher – April Start – Bourne End

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teacher to join a specialist school in Bourne End from April 2024. This role is ideal for a passionate educator with experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other complex learning needs.

• Contract: Full-time, long-term/permanent opportunity

About the Role:

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the needs of students with ASD and additional SEN.

• Use structured teaching approaches (e.g., TEACCH, PECS, Makaton) to support communication and learning.

• Work collaboratively with TAs, therapists, and SENCOs to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

• Implement EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) and track student progress.

• Create a supportive and structured classroom environment that promotes independence and positive behaviour.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

• Proven experience teaching students with ASD and additional SEN in a specialist or mainstream setting.

• Strong behaviour management skills and experience using individualised teaching strategies.

• Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, TEACCH, or other ASD-specific interventions is highly desirable.

• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting students with complex needs.
