SEND Teacher
Job description
Vacancy - SEND teachers required for SEND school in Surrey.
Uniform Education are working alongside an academy in Surrey that provides an education for boys aged 9 to 16, with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Some pupils also have moderate learning and attachment difficulties. This means that pupils struggle to form strong, healthy and sustainable relationships with others and can present with challenging behaviour. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Class sizes are small with no more than six pupils in each teaching group. Lessons are carefully planned and take into account the needs, interests and abilities of all pupils so that learning is more purposeful and engaging. Additional support in the classroom is provided by way of classroom assistants who work with pupils to build their confidence and self-esteem whilst also supporting their academic, social and developmental needs.
The academy is part of an academy trust, which specialises in SEND. The positions are temporary to permanent, meaning you will join in January (or sooner) through Uniform, and then look to switch to a permanent contract early in the new year.
This is an exciting opportunity at a relatively new school, with a lot of opportunity for career progression as well as building something special for the students. If successful, you will be paid accordingly to your teacher pay scale.
